私は超常現象や都市伝説と呼ばれる様な、マジョリティーの科学や常識では受けいれられ難いものに対して、歴史に埋もれた資料を掘り起こすことや、現代の生きたレポートを収集することで、「社会科学の中の見えない関係性」を可視化する考察を続けている。その考察による作品は、独自の装置や、ナラティヴな映像を通したもので、装置は、しばしば回転、破裂、振動などの激しい運動エネルギーを伴い、文明化と合理化の中で抑圧された無意識の欲望や不安が噴出する瞬間を想起させる。史実と虚構の曖昧な線を辿る作品が生む緊張感は、鑑賞者が無意識に抱えている問題や感情を露わにする。 SNSの発達による情報の最適化は、今まで繋がり得なかった人たちを結ぶことを可能にした一方で、情報を都合の良い様にフィルタリングすることで、コミュニティ間の分極化を助長した。分断は思想を過激化させ、現実と妄想を結びつける危険性をはらんでいる。そしてその緊張状態の破裂は暴徒を生みだしてしまう。分断されたこの世界で、対立のみが残された道なのだろうか。私はアートには、自分とは違った人たちを歩み寄らせる力があると信じている。例え相手が信じている事実が受け入れられなくとも、人は繋がることができるはずである。私はマイノリティーリポートの考察を続けることで、私たちが歩み寄れる想像力のありかを探し続けている。

I have continued to explore paranormal phenomena, urban legends, and other beliefs that cannot be accepted by the majority based on science and common sense by uncovering materials buried in history and collecting contemporary first-hand reports to illuminate invisible relationships that exist within the social sciences. My works inspired by this pursuit are created using unique devices and narrative-based visuals, and the devices are often accompanied by violent bursts of kinetic energy that include rotations, ruptures, vibrations, etc., in order to evoke moments that allow for the eruption of unconscious desires and anxieties that have been repressed by civilization and rationalization. The tension created by works that trace the fuzzy boundaries between historical fact and fiction seeks to expose the problems and emotions that are unconsciously harbored by viewers. While the optimization of information through the growth of social media has made it possible to bring together people who were previously unconnected, it has also contributed to the polarization of communities by filtering information in opportunistic ways. Such division can spark increasingly radical ideas and the danger of confusing reality with fantasy, and the rupture of the resulting state of tension can give rise to mobs. Is confrontation the only way forward in today's divided world? I believe that art has the power to bring us closer together with people who are different from us. Even if we do not accept the facts that someone else believes, there must be a way for people to connect with one another. I continue to search for imaginative possibilities that can bring us closer together through my ongoing exploration of reports of those in the minority.
